Recreation is the foundation of Hoover’s quality of life advantage. With 25 public parks and recreational facilities located in Hoover’s city limits and 605 acres of parkland, there are opportunities for any age or interest. Perfect locations for hiking, biking, archery, swimming and walking can be found throughout the city.
Athletic Opportunities for Any Age
The city has invested in key assets that are providing the platform for athletic success and leisure. The Hoover Met Complex is Alabama’s premier athletic facility and includes 10 outdoor fields, tennis courts, RV park, multipurpose event center, and the Hoover Met Stadium.
Outdoor Recreation Just 15 Minutes Away
The Cahaba River flows throughout Hoover attracting many canoeists and kayakers. The Cahaba is recognized as being one of only eight hotspots of biodiversity in the world and new canoe launch projects are underway to add more accessibility to the river.
Moss Rock Preserve is a beautiful 349 acre nature preserve abundant with forest systems, large rock outcroppings, streams, waterfalls, wildlife, and other unique natural features. Moss Rock Preserve's Boulder Field is a favorite among rock climbers. With numerous technical formations and climbing routes, these boulders appeal to climbers of all skill levels.
Black Creek Mountain Bike Park is Hoover’s 73-acre mountain bike park opened in June 2019. Located along Stadium Trace Parkway across from the Lake Wilborn community, this park offers 5 miles of trails built into the natural terrain. There are trails for all level riders.
