How do I dispose of refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and other appliances which have chlorofluorocardons (freon)?

Prior to contacting us for special collection, you will need to have the freon removed by a certified technician. The item must be tagged with a certification of removal. Once it has been tagged, you may contact the Hoover Public Works Department (205-444-7543), submit a request through My Hoover Connect or email myhooverconnect@hooveralabama.gov with your request and we will enter it for you.
